Bloodless

Bloodless

A Poem by JR

I saw her body and

it was bloodless and gray she

covered the pillow with

her blond hair, hands folded,

up against the satin and her

makeup was thick and red

and I remembered she

never wore it like that

when she was alive;

It didn’t seem right

for her to be painted

when she’s

dead.
