Label

Label

A Poem by JR

They say you can’t buy love

and that’s probably true

but I’ll tell you what I can do

buy this fifth of drink

and if I down it fast enough

I’ll forget to think I once thought

I knew what love was;

If you were to peel the world

like the label off this old bottle,

you’d probably just frown…

I’ve done it, and it’s

nothing but booze

and madness

all the way down.
