Them Bombs

Them Bombs

A Poem by JR

I never believed them bombs would fall

or them missiles lift from their silos

I put my hand over my heart

and I swore that them Rooskies were

crazy, them and them Chinese

but I never believed

them bombs would fall anyway;

They made me stand and

put my hand over my heart

and pray but

nothing I’ve prayed for

has come true in any way

still, I always believed them

missiles would stay away;

I think he’s become a p***y

since he got his toes in the dirt

and never got laid

now he sleeps like them Little Boys

in their bay

or like them Minutemen snuggled

in their silos, safe;

Maybe it would be better

if them bombs could fall like rain

or them missiles could slice

some tracers in the sky

maybe he’s fallen asleep

or maybe them Rooskies are crazy

maybe it’s easier to burn

than to say goodbye.
