Sand CastleA Poem by JRAny god that looks down on this mess would have to laugh at what he wrought through his careless hand these roughs edges that should smooth like sand through fingers but no, no, it’s a mess washed by water and drowned by dumb time everything that should stand straight has fallen, gates crumbled and walls collapsed in on their own weight roads gone numb, trumpets silent, even the standards have tumbled into sticks and leaves eventually the waves will lap high enough to swallow it whole and pull it back to where it began; Any god would have to laugh at what a mess he’s made when making me. © 2020 JRFeatured Review
