Heater

Heater

A Poem by JR

When the heater turns to hum

I worry I’ve become hard of hearing

when the heater hums

my human head is just a head again

when the heater hums

harm is unknown in this house

when the heater hums

hard won words hammer echoes in the hall

when the heater hums

I will have found my harmony

and I will hum along again
