Impatience

Impatience

A Poem by JR

They tell me Time heals all wounds

but, Time, you inglorious b***h

where are you?

I itch and I scratch and I can’t sleep

I toss myself waiting for you

night chases night, breath follows breath

heart ticks away on cue

and the red falls into gray; oh Time

you dullish twat

I look for you every dawn

reading bleak news on my laptop

crushing beer cans into recycle with a clink,

padding around in my slippers

hot water washing clean the dishes

while pondering the metrics and meter

in my head

Time, Time, you boorish c**t

I am still wounded…

when will you arrive?
