Reading Lydia

Reading Lydia

A Poem by JR

I feel at a loss for myself, her works are so compact

there isn’t a word wasted, each line

can be judged by the weight of the line before it

this is what I want to become…

I want my images to be complete, I want people to know

I am sketching out everything inside me

and I crave to be tight, a finished work

instead of this loose collection of edits and red lines

I want to become a metaphor

everyone will understand
