Daily Run

Daily Run

A Poem by JR

I am not more lonely than god

I have the sky and the sun

I have the breath of the wind

I have the heave in my chest

The burn my head

I am not more lonely than god

I have the pavement I have the heat

I have the whistle of breath

And staccato beat of feet

The burn in my heart

I am not more lonely than god no

I have my music

I have my poems and my thoughts

The neighbor dogs who call ruin down on me

The burn in my head

I am not more lonely than god

But it’s pretty goddamn close
