Take A Picture

Take A Picture

A Poem by Jared Pendergrass

I should’ve taken a picture ‘cause it would last longer.

I won’t play these games ‘cause they melt my mind.

Even now i can’t speak poorly of her.

Baby, it was so much easier to say goodbye.

So, it took a devil to get me in church?

It’s not so hard behaving polite.

Maybe we took it a step farther

than what would have been advised.

but who cares anyway?

It was fun while it lasted,

but now I’m laughing

So, who, who’s coming clean?

I’m so happy that it’s over.

Who the hell needs closure,

when the whole world knows exactly what it means?

Show that pearly white two faced smirk

and let me see those deep brown eyes.

I’ll show you how to walk away in return

but you already know that trick, right?

It was fun while it lasted,

but now I’m laughing

So, who, who’s coming clean?

I’m so happy that it’s over.

Who the hell needs closure,

when the whole world knows exactly what it means?

Some things never change, but never stay the same

one heart broken always claims two names

I’m sorry to her, caught in the wake

one was a devil, one was a saint

Well, i hope that saints move past it

I wish that she’s still laughing

and who, who’s coming clean?

I’m so happy that it’s over

and i hope she has her closure

somebody tell me what all this s**t means

Pardon the cursing. I rarely use such language in my writing, but it fits the mood too well.

I really enjoyed it. Angry man there, expressed quite well. For some reason, the claim two names, made me think of chain; The chain lyric of Fleetwood Mac. Love this and if you wonder what this means, you should read my "Believe" - I'm new and I don't think people are willing to "HURT" people and say, WHAT (made a funny sound, with that word), but when I write something, new/different/not correct at all in format and more - and cannot let it go. It has to be the best it can be. That's what I need. I look forward to reading much more Jared. This was fun. Great writing.
