Love Aint HardwiredA Poem by J.P.O.etCan't remember when I got tired of crying myself to sleep. Hey baby, I'm retired and I'll be yours to keep. My connections got rewired when I fell down in that heap. That night you called me liar and drove off in your Jeep.
All the words, things that transpired yeah I sure was a creep. You tested me before the fire and I couldn't make that leap. You're the truth, I'm the denier left to gather what I did reap. Buried inside my funeral pyre is a love my heart felt deep.
And love aint hardwired, it's all too skin deep but I aint done trying till God lay me down to sleep
