As....

As....

A Poem by J.P.O.et

As she laid in the ethereal light

that bathed her neck and shoulders

  in a golden hue,

I felt closer to her

  than any waking moment

  allowed or knew.

As the day's first rays of sun

filtered in allowing me to take in

  what laid within,

the exquisite beauty

that made me adore and appreciate

  her very state of being.

As I took note of her every breath

  she breathed life into dreams

  and she breathed life

  into me.

As she laid vulnerable before me

  I could see the innocence

in the soft creases of her lips

  and tangled curls entwined

  atop her dreaming mind.

As she breathed

  she made me believe

  and breathed life

  into me.

As this moment passed

  for they can never last,

  her eyelids slowly opened

and her sleepy dark eyes

  caught mine whilst

  the dream was undermined

  for eternity.

As daylight basked

  the room in white

a tear fell down my cheek

as she awoke and softly spoke,

"Why are your eyes sad, love?".

Simple, short and right to the point. What more could I have asked for. Great read. Love the word "as" that gets repeated in every stanza.

I suppose that the climax of this is but the idea, the love or adoration of the narrator, perhaps you or whomever you wrote in the thought of.

Thus, this is very sweet simple, and deep because of the emotion in loving "her."

Nicely done, to say the least.
