Forget

Forget

A Poem by J.P.O.et

They don't understand

why I sit naked

in the cold

Staring at outlines

of tree limbs naked

Moonlight molds

As if their silent silhouette

can make me

Forget

They don't understand

why I cry

all alone

Deep in quicksand,

bury feelings there

Suffocate the drone

of loneliness

and make me

Forget

They don't understand

why I sit pensive

before blank paper

Staring at outlines

of feelings captive

Silent narrator

of my losses

I have been

Forgotten

We sometimes feel that no one understands us J Poet and your poem is a tribute to that feeling, but trust me, whilst you are struggling to release yours, you are never alone in poet heaven. I am sure many will relate....wishing you a peace filled day, LLB

The solemn note of this is intriguing. I can FEEL the melancholy tones rather than just read. It gives the impression to me with the last stanza that the paper is the only one that catologues your history and witnesses your trials rather than any person, that wouldn't really understand anyway.

Brother, you have stunned me with this one. Have no criticism other than amazement at the parallel between the first and last verse. Excellent work.

(takes deep breath) WOW! Excellent transition, and parallelism between stanzas, with the dark outlines of the trees in the night compared to ideas on a page. Brilliant...

One question. Is "they" like, the rest of society or something? Or is it more personal than that? Just curious, it would put the poem in a bit more perspective for me. Great write, I'll add it to my favorites.

Have a nice day!
