My Poor LadyA Poem by J.P.O.etShe's cryingThe sun rises, over the Golden Gate Love's capsizing, somewhere in the Ocean State Star's are aligning, in outer space A smile is forming, on a baby's face
What does it take to make us see we are surrounded by beauty We rape Her with selfish greed and we waste Her, Mother Earth My poor Lady
A couple is singing, to their unborn child A wounded bird set free, into the wild We take from Her, forever defiled She is talking to us, listen and keep Her around awhile
What does it take to make us see we are surrounded by beauty We rape Her with selfish greed and we waste Her, Mother Earth My poor Lady
We dig into Her soil, creating such turmoil She has listened and She has seen yet She has stayed loyal It is the future, that we so spoil we don't care, we are blinded by money, power and oil
Do not just hear my song, listen and let my words linger on We as a people, we need to change our ways Think of your children like sunrays and there are only so many days for them to shine Yet we waste Her, Mother Earth My poor Lady © 2008 J.P.O.etFeatured Review
