Borrow from Tomorrows

Borrow from Tomorrows

A Poem by J.P.O.et
"

Think about our effect on the future

"

Every day when we rise,

take a walk in the bright sunshine

Are we comprehending, do we realize

there is not a neverending

bounty of beautifull skies

The message we are sending

is so full of lies,

and it's the future of mankind

that will cry

Cause we borrow from tomorrows

and who gave us the right

Creating future sorrows,

we need to see the light

Our friendly politicians,

they're not really listening

Caught up in partisinship

how do they make their decisions

Is it with a future vision,

any type of wisdom

I look at them with such derision

can't they see what we are causing

By poisoning future generations

we are not creating

a healthy scituation

Still we borrow from tomorrows

and who gave us the right

Creating future sorrows,

we need to see the light

See the world through a different prism

There will be a fundamental schism

Only for so long, will the earth listen

before she erupts in a chasm

it could be a cataclysm

But I'll tell all who will listen,

that we can still become one

with the ecosystem

We borrow from tomorrows

and who gave us the right

Creating future sorrows,

we need to see the light

Control our vices and gather up our voices

Be unselfish, and make the hard choices

All together, we can't be dismissed as simple noises

I'll plant a seed and let the ground moisten

A tree of knowledge growing,

fertilized with information

Think about how we effect future generations

Have the clarity to rise up for humanity

Let's step up with unity, make a proclamation

Let's not borrow from tomorrows,

creating future sorrows

Cause who gave us the right,

it sure wasn't Jesus Christ

Let's see the light

and do what's right

great message you have here.

"Cause we borrow from tomorrows
and who gave us the right
Creating future sorrows,
we need to see the light.

yes yes :)

the only thiing that didn't sit right was your use of the word 'blight' - it was too forced, and just didn't work well there.

"See the world through a different prism
There will be a fundamental schism
Only for so long, will the earth listen"

beautiful - that was by far my favorites lines in the piece. LOVE THEM

this is dope, of all the 3 stanzas this one hit hardest IMHO.

Cause we borrow from tomorrows

and who gave us the right

Creating future sorrows,

we need to see the light

best in sound, and in hope that it could still be just a lesson rather than the cause of the eventuality...

This could easily be used as a song. In a light way you here tell about the heavy truth.
Your write has a very nice flow. It is an easy read with an enormous clarity that jumps into ones face.
Great work - I can only applaud!

How loud can you scream it? Straight to the point about how fucked the future is because of our apparently perfect now.
