Bitter melonA Poem by butterflyThe more we go in to 2025
The less we feel the joy of life As the fires burned all the land The way of the USA is hard to understand They voted in the elected felon While all of us illegals still remain like a bitter melon Yes we want to be free of criminals yet they hired one for the white house and yes maybe the crime isn’t so severe now but they wanted the lowering of the grocery price they thought there would be more joy to this life do you feel it? I don’t I see the mundane and bleak gray sky forever more everything is still so expensive so many sit in the hallways forced behind locked doors I thought with all the technology all the powers for wars and instant messaging there would be a sweeter energy so many freedoms stripped away so many insults and bullies coming out walking among us in the day We have forgotten we are one family on this blue planet the one true thing that is truly organic is the love yet we dont love each other we dont clothe the naked we dont welcome the stranger we don’t remember His words so sacred to love the enemy love our neighbor yet we force the commandments to be posted in the school yet humans still choose to be the fool all this job applications all these job freezes all the necks the land lord squeezes all the looting between the burning breezes men still killing their wives stealing their child thinking they can get away with it in this life and here in 2025 I dont feel the joyful butterfly I dont feel like I am walking on sunshine I ask God to take me away because I feel so dead inside He wakes me up instead each day He opens my eyes but I tell Him from this adult life i have resigned i am ok to starve i am ok with this broken heart there is no more joy in this life welcome as we start 2025 with so many tears in our eyes we complain about all the illegals forgetting where we all got our start so many bow down to this highly praised felon as we are forced to swallow bitter melon © 2025 butterfly |
