Filomena

Filomena

A Poem by butterfly

Filomena, Filomena I hear you call my name
on Sweet holy soul’s day
sweeter and prettier
than Monalisa
I will always be grateful your love came my way
I visit you and Lolo, my Grandpappy
at St.Mary Cemetery
I wish you could still stay with me
I still hear you telling that turtle and the monkey story
As we lay in bed
eating m and m’s
so long ago
I wish it could still be in our future tomorrow
As the curtains part in the hallow
I still feel your lovely shadow
come and haunt me
never leave
Prettier than Monalisa
sweet Filomena
I lay on your grave a purple and red rose
coloring the truest love
out of everyone on this earth
you loved me the most
now sweet angel up above
pray for me
remembering thee
prettier than any Grandmother that could be
better than Monalisa
my sweet Lola, Filomena
