A Last Day of Freedom

A Last Day of Freedom

A Poem by butterfly

this is a last day of freedom
for the bells toll
edd made its final payment
yet I am broke
but the job offer came in time
Even though a still recovering sinner God shined a light
can Donald or Kamala make it so we dont have to work so hard just to live
cut up the price tags forever that make it expensive
can they end all the wars and the reasons to fight
can they feed the rumbling hunger and home the homeless without cause for defenses
or have we settled in to the pretenses that define society
have we embraced this new kind of slavery for the last thousand years
are we brave enough to politely cut the bud with Daiso scissors
start anew
as so many have been called unto
as the bells toll
for there is no choice as so many remain broke
as they try to build dreams
only to have the fake mofo tear it at the seams
we march on with our working hats
believing our blogs and chats are really all that
building fancy towers
while so many sit in rain and flowers
to the beat of their own drum
as we move away
from our problems
not realizing as I try to solve them
this is a last day of freedom

Dear butterfly. Can't stop inflation. In 1980, I made $350 as a manager and I was doing well. I work part-time in my retirement year and I make 600 a week. I am struggling. My first job. I made $1.50 a hour. If the pay is increased, the cost of the item will increase. My grandfather made $14.00 a hour working for Chrysler in 1969 after 35 years working. Today they make $60.00 a hour. We are buying USA oil now. USA workers get paid more then the Middle East. Look at Europe. Better pay and higher prices. The problem is simple my friend. The upper class get more money and the poor get less. Powerful and worthwhile thoughts shared.
