for an old friend who went up RIP sweet lady

We are thinking of you

Here in the oceans of our heart

Reminding we will never part

and the good things she do

an angel now born anew

she was once human like the rest of us

then sickness came

Doris went up and away

It was so many days ago

my mom always forces me to say hello

her daughter Tanya always said she still spoke of you

even till the last day

time fades old memories blurred in haze

i will always remember a smile and warm embrace

Here in the church at the end of my block

in a room of white

the sun shines on

though the Oakland ghetto sidewalks never quiet

yet the people are beautiful and strong

as if God says life with me can never be stopped

and so here we are in this beautiful truth

leaving us with these three words

reminding me to never waver

for no man can compare to the true savior

a most interesting magic erases all that hurts

we are thinking of you

shining gold from above
