The Morning Star

The Morning Star

A Poem by butterfly

our love fades to pink dawn
a mere memory playing on
the morning star woke me up
with its glowing yellow
electrifying sorrow
from yesterday's spell
once more crushed in his arms
he waves his magic charms
eats his meal and leaves me where I fell
does love still last
even with a cracked mask
he still want to touch me like that
how to behave
I should run for my life
i choose faith
just ignore the world's advice
just to love him for a while
makes me smile
in this infinite embrace
its the way of the hopeless romantic
falling off the wagon
we can’t change
All I can do is make this wish
sadness and depression never to return
in the cool fire of the dragon

hmm. deep and telling. there is much to like in this. such is the plight of the romantic. reality never seems to measure up to expectations. well written thoughts.
