Mechanical Hearts

Mechanical Hearts

A Poem by butterfly

Catching every drop of hope
in my empty cup
I look back at what a journey life has been
Though I am single there is a lot of love
Even now at 44's weird dream
I realize I am no w***e
I am a stray collector
Now though to those foolish boys my milkshake led to my door
I say no more
Only furry cats and dogs are the accepted visitor
This is only in good fun
I got drunk on Greek sun
The sunlight is a fine wine
to hear the Greek melodies play
while the children dance in their belly chains
it reminds me that peace and love will always remain
though I welcome the pain to stay
to remind hearts can heal
I crossed over the other side
The shame I no longer feel
the grace is shining brighter than daylight
Its been a struggle
i was blue in various moods
now I am over you
i feel the forgiveness coming through
forgiveness for me
for what I do
every day the slate is clean
we can build a new dream
its not to late for all drag and drama queens...
I am repaired in all parts
I hear the beating in these mechanical hearts

Let us hope our engine never dies...
And our mechanical hearts can beat forever.
Good poem, I enjoyed the structure.
Well done, take good care.
