The Forgotten WildA Poem by butterflyIn the pew I heard you As light shimmers through Glass stained windows Choir music filled the air Something changed and the memory that life isn't fair Brought tears to my eyes My sisters have husbands Where is mine My sisters have a child I am just the forgotten wild flower Recharging by sun power I have no complaint Sometimes I just wonder because i wanted the same I grew up and discovered for me everything had a change My papa was gone I cried out to him but there was no answer to his name All I had were the tears that fell on the page Of the mass song sheet All I could hear now was the frantic thumping of my heart beat I felt all alone I was drowning in fright Clouds blocked my sight This tunnel blocked the light Till the priest gave the final blessing All the prayers we were sending Were caught by the most divine of all He sat beside me and wiped my tears Whispers I heard said there is nothing to fear This is the path for you Nothing I could do can make it any less true We love and we lose We learn along the way As I left the pew and stepped out of the church in to Sunday i found the sun was there to guide my way It lead me to a nursery with beautiful plants and flowers I saw a butterfly I knew then my papa my angel was there still by my side In the wind, through the breeze on butterfly wings and free.... Still in my heart eternally...
