Youth's Unending Dream

Youth's Unending Dream

A Poem by butterfly

A tall young lady I knew since a baby
Has come in to my vacant living room
Flying to the piano her fingers glide on ivory
Releasing melodies and crescendos
With the melting of wintery snows
Fur Elise fills the room
All at once erasing the scent of death and gloom
As the artist in me lives one more day
Ever since we said goodbye
The arts drowned under the last breath that came over you and me when we separate
I know now it is as it should be
Yet as my heart dances in tune to the melody
My once exciting life is alive one last time in the memory
I get Lost In Your Eyes and I feel my wings glide like that old butterfly
That came alive when he was by my side
As the youth's unending dream pulls back the curtain to the life for an old ghost one more time
As the spring rises, my soul brightens reaching through sunshine for growth
Through the piano melodies and crescendos.
