Love's SkeletonA Poem by butterflyWe are not just flesh and bone there is a heart underneath this skin there is breath within Dreaming the dream of home Inside your arms is where I long to be Yet you can only be with me sometimes I never seem to win I feel so lonely Oh God I confess he is my only Wrong or right Blues or abuse He took the time to get me lychees and jujubes Yet you can't just leave her for me Yet you do things just to make me happy You say you are happy in your personal life Its a confusing twilight mind I need a 100 percent love Not a love that lasts sometime Yet I am a prisoner I can't say goodbye I cant close my eyes and ignore the want in my heart What is a girl to do Why do I sit here missing you Why do you text me you miss me if we can never be We are just love's skeleton I hope one day we will be more than friends in the end I am already 41 so I guess maybe I am alone in this love He tells me he is just a passing cruising ship I dont understand this when he tells me I should tell him when I am blocking you Why must I let you know I am going to leave Why don't you let me go Why did you come and help me say goodbye to my Kiddo Yet it is eternal heartache Cause all I want to do is stay You say we can stay keep seeing each other this way Yet we can't walk in ranch 99 without your hand in mine Yet we kissed in the park under moonlight Another confused guy All the others just want that good time what happened fellas? where are the ones who know how to talk to a lady the other barely texts anymore Mr. Right never knocks on my door I guess that fairy tale is just a story All I have that is left is love's skeleton I call him Ben maybe one day we will be more than friends in the end I want to walk away He says we can keep seeing each other and just stay Its a bittersweet truth How can I leave when deep inside i always miss you tell me where to go, tell me what to do I dont want to be a stranger I dont want to be a memory I want to be more than just love's skeleton I want you to know I care tell me we were something then more than love's skeleton
