Poetry is Permanent

Poetry is Permanent

A Poem by butterfly

I wish it was so easy to date as easy as reading poetry and staying up late
Its such a different night and day
Before I turned 40 I was wild
Out with the girls at the club  dancing away on the search for true love to find
Sweet kisses came and went
Yet poetry is permanent.
I saw Carrie and her dude eating Indian food
Watching them revel in very spicy curry made me hunger in a hurry
In my young days I was a suicidal child
Grown now like a daffodil so wild
I am untamed
I will never be bound by a cage
It may hold me for a time
Each day God wakes me up and assures me I can still fly
These days  my focus is not be so whirlwind
Though I still have that ADD brain
I kissed the flame
The burn came and went
Yet poetry is permanent.

I enjoyed the wandering thoughts here butterfly and do concur, that at least for me, poetry is permanent. As permanent as my morning cuppa and my daily pottering in my garden. Wouldn't be without it.
