Catwoman

Catwoman

A Poem by butterfly
"

For my beloved Sunshine. My forever grey angel cat with emerald green eyes from so long ago. I saw the neighbors cat and today was bless the pets I think she sent me a sign from above...

"
Cat on a hot tin roof
Cat woman out to hustle you
She sleeks across the housetop
Ready to make the world rock
You see her in an instant the next she fades in to the night
Hiding in the darkness but  in plain sight
I will live like her
She breathes in lonely me
Binds the power with strokes of fur
I am at the place of no return
I am unhappy
To trust or not to trust
It feels like a game
I don't know how to express myself
Cat woman tells me what to say
Smash the glass
Say enough at last
Remind yourself of the strong woman buried in the sand
They walk all over you like a door mat
She tells me no more
When I was a little girl
I had a cat woman named Sunshine
She was my first best friend in my world
Always my baby from dawn to sleeping strong by my side
We lived our secret places , eat apple slices and hide
Then one day my Lola let her out and only her dead body was left on our door steps for me to find
I think this is the moment that told me not to trust humans
My cousins who who lived in the duplex
Said it was the neighbor next door
He never liked cats
He poisoned her with a can of 9 lives
I did see it on the steps one time
She only ate Whiskas
I have no proof
Sunshine is still with me
Reminding me to be strong and aloof
Let it be
I am in your heart in your memory
Real love goes on for eternity
The neighborhood cats come to me once in a blue moon
I believe she sends them as a sign I will always protect you
Tonight I saw Onyx, cat on a hot tin roof
Cat woman pulling a hustler over you
I wish I could trust my lover
it makes me sad
I don't want any other
One day maybe something will heal him from being mad
Then it will be a true love that fills this insatiable hunger
Of a cat woman still strong enough in her own power
I was taught long ago
Keep your head up
Ooh things are gonna get easier
Baby don't cry
They win when your soul dies
I too have 9 lives
Sunshine breathed them all in me
In a little girl before her mission was complete
Now I know the cats of our earth
Are the healers of broken hearts and soul burns
After the point of no return
The cat on a hot tin roof
Cat woman will come pull a hustle on you
Remind you of the strength of a cat woman carrying us through.
