Ride of Paradise

Ride of Paradise

A Poem by butterfly

His lips on mine made my sugar high
There we sat in the afternoon
We escaped our world for a bittersweet move
I see the truth
He only misses me when he is horny
I cant deny he is my favorite kind of sweet
This time it was more rushed
We thought my mom was out there tending the garden bush
I supposed I am the one who has to give him up
This vessel is empty of love
I still feel his furry arms under mine
We just laid together silent
Trying to hold on to this sweet lie
Yet Its a lie
I suppose he will never leave his wife
I am the one who has to prove she still has love for her self in this life
Round and round on this carousel only to get to the end of the ride
Its a ride of paradise
I can no longer see the sick truth in his eyes
I should have known better to expect love in a toxic land
Dear Lord give me strength to say goodbye to this man
Or let me keep holding his hand
Let me be the one to save him drowning in this quick sand
I love him its true
I feel the wound when he says he has no time for love
He asks me if I will block him again
We fall silent as we know the answer in the end....

If he does leave you, consider yourself as having dodged a bullet.
