Love Never Came

Love Never Came

A Poem by butterfly

I won’t be depressed
I am always happy and blessed
I am excited
Completely delighted
i don’t need you
I may be smelly
But hey skunks are cute too
When you aren’t busy leaving them abused
They won’t have to stank bomb you
They won’t have to put up a defense
They won’t have to smile with pretense
Skunks can simply be a cute friend
When not stressed
I discover there is more to life then just great sex
Like, my untarnished freedom
I found the source of the problem
its him. He is a player with a flavor to savor
I closed my eyes to the red flag
Became his FWB hag
It couldn't be helped there was instant electricity when he touched me
i guess this hard lesson was part of my destiny
Now its all over I wake up and I am out of the trap
I got pretty angel wings and flying time is overdue
Excited to navigate through a new map
I don’t know where it leads to
All I know is I am not lonely anymore
I just pray it will be a destination better then ever before
I walked each corner of this land and got the t-shirt
Time to move on and shake off this hurt
He fixes cars and still we can't seem to join our parts
I will be the one to steer the wheels of my heart
Nothing is broken
We knew this heaven is stolen
Its time to return the things we took
I hope life will be good for you
I have to close this book
I no longer want to play
This is no place to stay
 When love never came.
