Butterfly Jar

Butterfly Jar

A Poem by butterfly

Always in between the dark and the daylight
No matter how severe I know I will survive
If its over its alright
Nothing was meant to last beyond tonight
There is no reason to cry
We are still breathing alive
No matter what lines will be crossed and blurred
We go on as if we didn't feel the rug burn
The meaning is always hiding. However silver shines in the lining.
We didn't know what we do
All I know I was mesmerized too
We never know why
Its not in our hands
I think I was trapped in the butterfly jar
He held me close to his heart
He couldn't bear to watch me part
Now he knows he must open his hands and watch me rise
I will never be his and he will never be mine
Butterflies can't stay if they can't feel the air through their wings they will die
This cage is not for me
This place won't bring us peace
Yet we live on in love in the alternate universe of dreams
Is it real? Is it just a memory? Who can tell?
We can only ask the maker of the spell
Until then be well
Lift the glass. Alas, it is time for me to  go
Pieces of heart and hope remain in the butterfly jar.
