Beautiful Day

Beautiful Day

A Poem by butterfly

Two local Starbucks shops are full
The wifi don’t work
What is this bull?
Demons down below try to hurt
I won’t get angry
i won’t let them get their way
I will work on my writing
Even if I can’t connect at Paris Baguette Cafe
Clearly this is what the good Lord has destined for me at this hour of day
There is no reason to complain
I got my toasted white mocha but it wasn’t that great
Now, I am drinking hazelnut latte
Sound of street workers are at the front
Mouth is filled with Doritos ranch crunch
I got so much good luck
I went to my place of work got things done
I got to go to Crown and Crumpet
I took my mama who would have thunk it?
There is so much beauty I see
Let me paint a picture of the current scene
The skies are gray
The street smoke blows away
The cars wait for the lights to change
I hear voices of strange
On this day we get some rain
Oh yes i tell you this truly is a beautiful day
I wish for a great year
No more tears and war filled fear
Two boys flirt with the girls at the counter
Love please stay here
Fill our empty cups and heart
Instill the endless wonder
Never from us part
Oh Love please don’t go to far dear
Come in the blue box like Tiffany and Paris Baguette things
Come on love cut all the dumb political strings
Instill love for all wonderings
I wish as I sit drinking my hazel nut latte
I can’t connect to the wifi
I am writing out my mind
To avoid feeling more alone
To feel like I have a purpose outside the home
I could still connect on the phone
The screen is so small but its there after all
There is no reason to complain
It truly is a beautiful day.
