DreamsA Poem by butterfly
When he texts hi, looks me in the eye, I'm a deer in headlights
I lose control as he takes over my soul Feels like I'm in dreams I am awake I wish I had a crystal ball My mind says heartache My heart says stay What's wrong with keeping dreams What's wrong with pretending till it's real If happiness is what we feel Why not give in to our dreams? Walking with head in clouds Is not what life is about It's time to get back in the ground. See what is truly around Chase the dreams that sets the free Diamond rings are pretty handcuffs The promise of love can easily fade These promises are human made I would rather feel the dream while I'm awake Even if not forever physically I feel Him always with me I can let him go Confidence and freedom are what I bring to my soul I'm whole I'm living a dream I can sit in Starbucks with my frappuchino cream Write about my poetic dream Still waiting for love to find me If I knew where he was I would meet him at his place Till then he is in my dreams Till then my home will always be in his embrace The door isn't locked My heart isn't blocked I may be still a little lost The price of your parts is a high cost I'm now sure I can afford But how can I lock the door to a dream I will pray for you Do what I can do All I can do is see you in my dreams © 2017 butterfly |
