Break me open

Break me open

A Poem by butterfly
"

learning it's ok to text him I miss you if you truly miss him.

"
A trump voter,
A 49er fan,
So opposite from what I am.
He wore a mohawk when he shook my hand
I thought to myself oh boy, this is hell!
There is no love,oh well
Thanks for the coffee, but he offered me a ride home
I thought when he left that's it, that's that.
That day was three years or more ago
I don't even remember
He seems to be around here and there
He is a friend who cares for me
He makes me smile and says hi baby
Still it can drive one crazy
The love or whatever it is, we don't want labels
We don't want to get disabled
He is stuck in a place I am unable to see
Friends is all we can be. In a way it feels ok
Im learning lessons of love
Dark angel from above
This paradise is stolen
Break me open
I just want to love
Even if it's wrong
I can't stop
Break my soul apart
Break my heart
There is no stopping what we start
I don't want to stay frozen
This paradise is golden
It's just a hologram
He say opposites attract
We are parted by the red flags
I must let go
Before I do I will tell you I miss you
He replies I miss you more
The electric can't be ignored
Melt me so I can be healthy
Love is the only way to feel wealthy
I wont stay frozen
Break me open.

I really like the frankness of this piece. Isn't it strange, sometimes the best people in our lives are the ones that seem totally opposite of us. Maybe it is true, "Opposites attract". I also love how comfortable it feels when you read it. It kind of has the feel of a love song in a way. I can almost hear music as I read. It would certainly make a great pop song ;) Well done!
