A Poem by Jerry Patrick Ryan

The lost glimmering chance of hope
walking around with only a pair of pants and piece a rope
and only looking for the next chance to eat some dope
I just use because it helps me cope
but really nope
Really it's an excuse just to keep me afloat
let lose let down just give me a poke
I won't be here when you read what I wrote
I reap what sow
I turn, leap and go
this peak is slow
it will last until next week yo
for now ill' just keep it low..
