Chapter 84

Chapter 84

A Chapter by Jemma Packman

Indigo chasing after Summer down the corridor. Indigo says “Sums.” Summer keeps walking. “Summer.” Indigo catches up to Summer and grabs her hand. “Summer, where are you going?”

Summer stops and says “Indi, let me go.”

            “Tell me where you’re going?”

            “To get my son.”

            “Then I’m coming with you.”

            “No. Your place is here.”

            “My place is with you.”

“Indigo, go back to your family.”

“You’re my family. Summer, look at me.” Summer hangs her head. “Princess, please look at me?” Summer turns to look at Indigo. “I know what you’re thinking, and you can’t leave. You promised I’d never lose you again.”

“You’re not losing me, but I have to keep Ethan safe. While he’s out there, I can’t do that here. I have to go.”

            “Then I’m coming too.”

            “Your life is here.”

Indigo puts her forehead against Summer’s. “My life is with you. Please, don’t run away. My heart can’t take it again.”

Summer hugs Indigo. “What else can I do?”

“Let me keep my promise to protect you and Ethan. I’ll call Meredith, you call Sabrina and Fico, explain what’s going on. Please, Summer, don’t go.”

            Summer kisses Indigo. “Ok.”

            “Ok?”

“I’ll do it for you, but if he comes anywhere near Ethan…”

            “I’ll pack our things myself.”

            “Our things?”

“I told you, my life is with you. If you go, I’m going too. I love you.”

“And I still have to go to this party Saturday?”

            “Erm, yeah.”

            “If I didn’t?”

“Gaz and Priscilla would hunt you down, and who knows what punishment they’d dish out.”

“Fine but you have to spend the day with Ethan and me.”

“I’ll even stay with you every night at your house, starting tonight.”

“Deal.” Indigo kisses Summer. “I’m going to call Mom. Go back to your dad.”

            “I’ll call Meredith.”

            “I’m not going to run.”

“I know, but would you prefer me to be stood with you, or Lexi?”

            “Definitely you.”

            “That’s what I thought.”
