Chapter 72

Chapter 72

A Chapter by Jemma Packman

Indigo and Summer enter Indigo's house. Indigo sits on the couch. Summer sits next to her and says "You ok?"

Indigo says "Sums, about the proposal thing?"

"Don't worry about it. It's not like Ethan didn't spring it on you already."

"Is it something you want?"

"Right now that doesn't matter."

"Why not?"

"Because you won't marry someone that you don't think trusts you."

"Sums..."

"It's alright. Mom told me I'm holding back from you and it's hurting you. I don't want to hurt you, Indi."

Indigo holds Summer's hand. "Seeing you in pain hurts me. The thought of losing you hurts me. You don't hurt me."

"But I'm not in pain and you're not going to lose me."

"I did once. History tends to repeat itself."

"Not if you learn from it."

"I'm not going to push you. I want to be ready in your own time."

"I've got a therapist for s**t like that."

"Yeah. My sister. She knows more about you than I do."

"No she doesn't. She knows what you know about me but you know me."

"I sound like a jealous child, don't I?"

"A little. You look like a godess though."

"Such a chamer."

Indigo kisses Summer. Summer pulls back. "I want to show you something."

"What?" Summer starts to take off her shirt. "Sums, you don't have to do this."

"Yes I do."

"Then let me take this off." Summer nods. "Stop me if you need to." Indigo starts to take Summer's shirt off. Summer closes her eyes. "Sums, look at me."

Summer opens her eyes. "Nervous."

Indigo removes Summer's shirt and drops it on the floor. "No need to be nervous. It's me."

"Exactly." Indigo runs her fingers over Summer's scars. "I don't know how I got all them but I'll never forget getting this one."

Summer stands in front of Indigo and lowers the waistband of her jeans. Indigo touches the scar. Summer stiffens. "Is this...?"

"Yeah."

"How?"

"Painfully." Indigo pulls Summer to her by the hips. "I'm not a princess. A princess isn't this broken."

Indigo kisses the scar. "You're not broken, and you're not a victim. You're a survivor and a warrior. My warrior princess."

"Really? Going to start calling me Xena?"

Indigo looks up at Summer. "Only if you wear the outfit."

Summer leans down and kisses Indigo "Not happening."

Summer moves away and bends down to grab her shirt. "You don't need that."

Summer looks at Indigo. "Why that?"

Indigo pulls Summer to top of her. "Hot in here."

Indigo kisses Summer. Indigo runs her hands down Summer's chest and stomach. Indigo attempts to undo Summer's jeans. "Indi, stop."

"Sorry. I got carried away."

"No, I want... I want you to try. It's just..."

"Too soon?"

"No." Indigo looks confused. "You're overdressed."

Indigo sits up. "You know how to fix that."

Summer takes off Indigo's shirt, drops it on the floor and kisses Indigo. "If I -"

"I'll stop. Trust me."

"I do."

Indigo grabs Summer's neck and kisses her.
