Chapter 71

Chapter 71

A Chapter by Jemma Packman

Shannon holding baby Charlie, Charlie, Leigh, Louisa and Mickey walking towards the car. Charlie says "Are you sure you're up to this right now?"
Shannon says "Yes. Stop worrying. I don't want to keep my son out for too long."
Louisa says "You don't have to come with us."
Mickey says "You don't need to try that reverse psychology with me."
Louisa says "I wasn't."
Charlie says "No, that was your guilt trip voice."
Mickey says "It doesn't matter, I'm coming with you. Even if it is to make sure Charlie doesn't total my car before I've driven it."
Shannon says "Charlie, give her her keys back."
Charlie says "I don't have them."
Leigh says "Oh, I have." Leigh gets the keys out of her pocket and hands them to Mickey. "Drive carefully."
Charlie says "Don't forget the brakes are a bit stiff."
Louisa says "How would you know? Did you even use them on the way here?"
Charlie says "Stopped outside, didn't I?"
Shannon says "Stop argueing and get in the car."
In unison, Charlie and Louisa says "Sorry, mommy. We'll be good."
Shannon looks at baby Charlie and says "If you grow up like your sisters I'm going to have an interesting life."
