Chapter 57

Chapter 57

A Chapter by Jemma Packman

Indigo sat at her desk. There's a knock at the door. Indigo shouts, "Come in."
Priscilla and Summer enter. Priscilla says "Hey, you busy?"
"Depends who's asking."
Priscilla looks at Summer. "She is."
"Then no. What can I do for you?"
"If I'd said me ,would you have been busy?"
"Yes. But I'd have made time. Possibly."
"F*****g favouritism. She's not even your girlfriend."
"Shut up. Why are you here? And together?"
Summer says "She kidnapped me."
Indigo gets up and walks towards them "You ok?"
"I'm fine. We came to talk to you about Gaz's party."
"What about it? It's Friday. Same day as our date."
Priscilla says "Which is today."
"S**t! We can't plan something in under a day."
Summer says "Speak for yourself. It's sorted."
"Really? How?"
"Made a few calls."
"That simple?"
Priscilla nods and says "Gaz said his friend was having was having a birthday party, Summer rang him and convinced him to share the celebration."
Summer says "Only for a couple of hours."
Indigo says "How?"
"Mentioned you would be there."
"Summer, whose birthday is it?"
"Ian. Ian Leker."
"Tell me you're kidding."
Priscilla says "Problem?"
"Oh, no. Ian Leker isn't an inappropriate creep at all. You'll like him."
"Suck it up. You can leave whenever you want. After the first hour."
Summer says "And I'll be there with you. You know what he thinks of me."
Indigo says "You, yes. Rosie, no."
"I didn't think that through. I'm sorry. But I'll still be there."
Indigo holds Summer's hand. "That makes up for it."
Priscilla says "Remind me why you two aren't official? I mean, that was disgustingly sweet, but still."
"Priscilla."
"What?"
Summer says "Indigo, do you want us to be official?"
Indigo says "That's up to you. When you're ready. No rush."
"What time are you picking me up tonight?"
"What time is Gaz's party starting?"
Priscilla says "Around eight, but you'll need to be there earlier to make sure everything's set up."
Indigo looks at Summer. "I'll be there for five."
Summer says "As long as that'll give you enough time with Ethan."
"I know how long you take to get ready, so yeah it will."
Summer kisses Indigo's cheek. "Well, I'll see you ladies later."
Priscilla says "Hold up there, Princess. Where are you going?"
"Princess?"
"Problem?"
"No. In answer to your question, I have to pick my son up from school."
"And I told you, I'd drive you wherever you needed to go after this. So, you've got time to give Indigo a proper goodbye kiss. I'll wait out there. Unless you want me to join?"
"Ok. No. I've gotta go."
Summer rushes out of the office. Indigoslaps Priscilla's arm. "Ouch! What was that for?"
Indigo says "You scared her away."
"You let her go."
"I'll get her back in a few hours. Anyway, Princess?"
Priscilla shrugs. "Suits her though, doesn't it?"
"Kind of does."
