Chapter 46A Chapter by Jemma PackmanIndigo enters her office. Yeardleigh says “Morning, Boss.” Indigo says “Morning. How you feeling?” “Erm, good. How are you?” “Good. How was your weekend?” “Oh God. You saw me Friday night?” Indigo laughs. “Yes, I did, and I must say, I’m impressed by your enthusiasm when you dance.” Yeardleigh puts her head in her hands. “You saw that? Moxie’s been calling me Monkeygirl all weekend.” “How are things between you two?” Yeardleigh looks up. “Same as always. I make a fool of myself, she taunts me until she gets bored.” “And you’re ok with that?” Yeardleigh shrugs. “It’s the way it’s always been.” “You love her, don’t you?” “Of course. She’s my best friend. What’s with all the questions?” “Just curious.” “How was your weekend? Did you find Summer?” Indigo smiles. “We got the right address but I was a few minutes past the deadline.” “So why are you smiling?” “She kept her part of the deal and found me. It was rocky at first, but we got through it and had an amazing weekend together.” “That’s great, boss. I’m happy for you. I hope it works out. You deserve it.” “Thank you. Well, we’d better get to work.” “Yeah. You don’t pay me to talk about our personal lives.” “No, but I appreciate it when we do.” “That’s what friends are for, right?” “Right. Can you call Zarifa for me? I need to talk to her.” Yeardleigh nods. Indigo goes into her office. © 2016 Jemma Packman |
