Chapter 44A Chapter by Jemma PackmanIndigo and Summer in Indigo’s car. Indigo says “Why are you still laughing?” Summer says “Because you didn’t see it coming.” “We had a deal and he broke it.” “No. He found a loophole.” “Loophole?” “Your deal was that he wouldn’t tell you any details.” “Which he did.” “No. He told me.” “With me next to you.” “But not directly to you, so he didn’t break the deal.” “Ah, s**t.” “Always check the fine print, counsellor.” Indigo laughs and stops the car. “We’re here.” “I’m sorry I caused hassle for you and Lexi.” “You didn’t. I’m sorry about Ric. I don’t get him.” “Like I told him, not his approval I’m after.” “Whose approval do you want?” “Yours.” “Mine?” “Maybe approval isn’t the right word, but seeing you happy is all I want.” Indigo kisses Summer. “Smooth talker.” “Want to come say goodnight to Ethan? He hasn’t stopped asking about you.” “Like mother, like son.” “At least he has good taste. Coming in?” “Erm, no. I wouldn’t want to disrupt his pattern.” “Worried mom will walk in again?” “Always. Our deal is still on the table.” “I’ll think about it.” Summer kisses Indigo. “I’ll call you.” “Don’t call. Just turn up.” “Or I’m your b***h?” Indigo kisses Summer. “Be there by midnight, and I’ll be yours.” Summer smiles. “Gaz is a bad influence on you.” Summer gets out the car and walks into her house. “No. It’s just you that does this to me.” Indigo drives away. © 2016 Jemma Packman |
