Chapter 40

Louisa and Mickey walking down the corridor of the hospital. Louisa says "You will be in there with me, won't you?"
Mickey says "If it's ok. I mean, it's a family thing."
Louisa says "I could use a friend. Besides, Shannon's going to be in there and I guess she'll want Charlie with her."
Mickey says "I won't leave Leigh alone."
Louisa says "Let me talk to my parents."
Louisa goes into Lucas' room. Mickey says "Lou, wait." Shannon, Charlie and Leigh walk to Mickey. "Hey, what took you so long?"
Shannon says "My fault. Where's Louisa?"
Mickey says "Trying to get us all a pass."
Leigh says "What?"
Mickey says "All of us in there."
Charlie says "Why?"
Mickey says "I may have messed up trying to get out of going in there."
Leigh says "Squid."
Louisa comes out of the room and says "It's ok for you all to come in."
Charlie says "Why would anyone agree to that?"
Leigh says "Charlie."
Mickey says "Be right with you, Lou."
Shannon says "Charlie, you are coming with me?"
Charlie says "Right behind you."
Shannon goes into Lucas' room. Mickey says "Oh no. You two have your 'We need to talk' faces on."
Charlie says "Don't."
Mickey says "Come on then."
Mickey goes into Lucas' room. Charlie says "You heard her."
Leigh says "You going to tell me what's wrong with you?"
Charlie takes Leigh's hand and says "Come on."
Leigh says "You're shaking."
Charlie and Leigh enter Lucas' room.
