Chapter 36

Chapter 36

A Chapter by Jemma Packman

Summer and Indigo sat in a booth in a diner. Indigo says “That was his bedroom?” Summer nods. “You took me into Silvains bedroom?” Summer nods again. “Why?”
Summer says “It was closer.”
“It was closer?”
“Didnt want to make you wait.”
“I thought making me wait was your thing?”
“Gave it up. Bad habit.”
Indigo smiles. “Yes it was.”
Indigo kisses Summer. “What would you like to do today?”
“Did I not make it clear this morning?”
“You did, but we need to talk.”
“Again, did I not make it clear this morning?”
“Didnt I? Indi, theres stuff you need to know and Id rather you know now. Give you a chance to run.”
“Why would I run?”
“Because I dont just come with baggage, I come with a moving truck.”
“Rosie comes with baggage. Not my Summer.”
“Indigo, come on. You know its still my s**t, and theres so much of it.”
“What do I need to know? Silvain told me, well everyone, about, yow, and I already know about your, erm, promiscuity.”
“No you dont. Not really. If we dont talk, Ill lose my nerve.”
“You dont need to tell me anything. Well, maybe a couple of things.”
“Why?”
“Because, although I want answers, I want you more. Ive missed you.” Indigo kisses Summer. “How about this? If I ask a question, you answer it.”
“There are still certain things you need to know.”
“Are you a murderer?” summer shakes her head. “A criminal?” Summer shakes her head again. “Married or in any way romantically involved with another person?”
“No.”
“Then theres nothing I need to know right now”
“Its that simple for you?”
“Yes.” Indigo Summers hand. “Come on. Lets get out of here.”
“And where are we going?”
“My place.”
“Your place?”
“I need to change clothes, and Ive decided what I want to do today.”
Indigo stands up, pulling Summer with her. “Whats that?”
“Youll see. Come on.”
Summer follows Indigo. “Indigo, Im not a fan of surprises.”
Indigo just smiles at Summer and they leave the diner.
