Chapter 27

Leigh and Charlie sat in the waiting area. Charlie is resting her head on Leigh's shoulder. Leigh says "Charlie?" 

Charlie says "Yeah?" 

Leigh says "Are you ok?" 

Charlie says "I told you I was but you insisted I get checked out." 

Leigh says "Sure I did. You could lose an arm and still say you were ok." 

Charlie says "So why ask?" 

Leigh says "You don't seem yourself. Has seeing Roberta and her floozy got to you?" 

Charlie moves to look at Leigh and says "A bit, but it's not that." 

Leigh says "What is it?" 

Charlie says "Leigh, I'm a big girl, I just don't like hospitals." 

Leigh says "That's not it." 

Charlie says "Prove it." 

Leigh says "I'll get to the bottom of this." 

Charlie says "Will there be probing?" 

Leigh says "You're disgusting." 

Charlie says "Made you smile though." 

Shannon says "Charlie?" 

Charlie and Leigh stand up. Charlie says "You ready?" 

Shannon says "Nearly. He wants to meet you." 

Charlie says "Why?" 

Shannon says Come in and he can tell you himself." 

Charlie says "Ok." 

Charlie looks at Leigh. Leigh says "I'll be fine. I'll go chase up your X-rays." 

Leigh walks away. Shannon says "This way." 

Shannon starts walking and Charlie follows.
