Chapter 25

Charlie laying on a X-ray table. Leigh in a small room with a nurse. Charlie says "How much longer do I have to be here?" 

Leigh says "Longer if you don't stay still." 

The nurse pushes a few buttons and says "All done." 

Charlie almost jumps off the bed and runs out of the room. Leigh quickly follows. Charlie says "So, am I all there?" 

Leigh says "I'm not sure you've ever been all there." 

Charlie says "When them pictures are ready we can see if my body's as good as people say it is." 

Leigh says "You're not funny." 

Charlie says "Yes I am. " Charlie stops still in the middle of the corridor. "What is she doing here?" 

Leigh stops to follow Charlie's glare and says "Who?" 

Charlie says "Who did you call earlier?" 

Leigh says "Work." 

Charlie says "Who the hell called you?" 

Charlie turns around to face Robbie, who is stood behind Leigh. Robbie says "We need to talk." 

Charlie says "Not here and not now." 

Leigh has moved next to Charlie to face Robbie and says "Who did call you?" 

Robbie says "A friend." 

Charlie says "She did what? Is that even legal?" 

Leigh says "Who are you talking about?" 

Yvette walks up behind Robbie and says "I called." 

Leigh says "You're the doctor that dealt with Shannon. How would you know to ring Roberta? And why would you have the number?" 

Charlie says "Leigh, leave it." 

Leigh says "Are you? Is she? W***e!" 

Leigh tries to charge at Yvette but Charlie catches her around the waist, pulls her back, holds Leigh tight against her body and says "Calm down. Not the time or the place." 

Robbie says "You're right, this isn't the place. I'm going to your apartment and when you get back we will talk." 

Charlie says "Fine." 

Robbie walks away. Yvette looks at Robbie then at Charlie and says "I had to." 

Charlie says "Go away." 

Yvette says "I am sorry, Charlie." 

Yvette hurries away. Leigh says "Are you going to let me go yet?" 

Charlie says "Are you calm?" 

Leigh says "As I can be." Charlie releases her hold and steps back. "Why didn't you tell Roberta you might not be home for hours?" 

Charlie says "Think I should?" 

Leigh says "She got a key?" 

Charlie says "No." 

Leigh says "Let her wait." 

Charlie says "I love your cruel streak."
