Secrete-cy

And even though I have consistently

tried to ignore this warm,

tightness in my stomach,

it continues.

 

And I know the consequences,

but the thought of telling you

how I conjure you in my dreams,

remains.

 

And whenever we come close to touching,

excitedly, I come closer

to breaking my rules of

denial.

 

And obviously there is nothing I can do,

as it becomes clearer everyday

this feeling demands

secrecy.

i agree with james, this poem could have so many interpretations.... it could be about love, guilt feelings, and more... and it is, in that flexible way, an effective poem! :)

To me this brings to mind a woman who's with child, and she's keeping her secret all to herself. Although, I could be way off...
