Expectations

Expectations

A Poem by Jessica J

Demonstrating a sense of knowledge

Makes my sorrow somewhat less…

A selling of the truth

To the unconcerned.

I really shouldn't be so purple and weak…

A yellow is fading.

Even if I am shiny and bright, it is a rouse.

Warmness is a façade and develops quickly…

A buffet for the hungry.

It's time to edify and involve you in it.

You lack an answer and try to fill me up…

A temporary fix.

Not yet cynical enough to realize I am allowed…

            A rage is expected.

But never developed.

I am losing my grip…

            A destruction is eminent.

Jessica,
I am intrigued by the form of this poem...is it something of your own creation or something I should recognize and don't? Whatever the case, it seems to serve this poem well. Excellent imagery...I really like the last 2 lines of stanza 1.

Great work - lovely choice of words as well. They fall perfectly into place with one another. Anyway, excellent job. Do keep up the good work.

Kudos...
