NEVER FORGET

NEVER FORGET

A Poem by my-wibbly-wobbly-life

NEVER FORGET

A monolith stands alone.

It wasn’t always here.

Though many think it was.

NEVER FORGET

Something happened.

Before it was built.

There was blood.

And tears.

Not just lives

Were lost.

NEVER FORGET

A fate worse than death.

It must not happen again.

The blood.

The fear.

The end.

NEVER FORGET

They wanted to remember forever.

They built a monolith.

Stone.

They inscribed upon it.

NEVER FORGET

But eventually they left.

Or died.

No one remained.

Except the monolith.

NEVER FORGET

So now new children,

Play at its base.

People read the words.

They stare.

Blank.

no one remembers.

Author's Note

my-wibbly-wobbly-life
It's a poem. I don't know, I never write poetry. Here goes.
Also I still need to edit the novella. Working on it.
Ugh, school.
