The Blues with MoodsA Poem by Josie E. Cook M. A.Fall in the air...The Blues with Moods
Today, the sky is filled with blues In every shade, And dotted with fluffy white clouds They appear to be floating in a sea Of this amazing blueness, I love that feeling as I gaze at them By a fountain with spirited angels Dancing in the middle of it, They are entwined And their wings seem to reach for The skies above me, With pretty fall leaves littering the slate-colored Path near me, And some of these colorful varying shapes have reached the water in the Park pond--floating and tumbling As the geese swim with the ducks, On a bench, by the edge of a clearing, A man and a woman Are cuddled together Almost as one, His hand in her long hair And her legs wrapped around his waist, With her fingers inside his coat pockets, I'm a bit jealous of their passion for each Other, Because my love life is in that halted stage Where an emptiness takes over And my heart feels heavy. Something needs to happen soon to make This state an evaporating emotion, so it won't Linger forever. The cute couple is gone, They vanished like the fog When the sun arrives, And it fades into the trees to hide Until another cold morning comes forth. --J. E. Cook ©2017
