My RegretsA Poem by Josie E. Cook M. A.Yesterday, I learned on Facebook that my Aunt Sharon had passed away due to complications with the flu~My Regrets Your cell number was passed to me On tiny slip of paper, I stashed it away inside small-carved wooden box Forgetting until I learned the news that you had passed. Overcome with my regret, My fingers itched to retrieve that slip of paper, And dial your number... Just to see what would happen.
However, I never found the courage to do so Because the hurt inside me is too great To overcome and I fear the time that has passed.
If you were here, I would tell you how much I Wished that we had connected before the allotted Time expired and took you away for good.
You will be missed because your kind and giving soul Was a treasure here on Earth. I know you have your wings now To set you free to do more well deeded Work for all, Since you were too sweet for this Atmosphere surrounding us down here.
Just know that I will indeed miss you And long for the day when we meet again Where everything is bright and special And the darkness is kept at bay By special beings like you! “In loving memory, For my Aunt Sharon Randall” --Your NettyDoodle ©2014 (J.
