Nightmare

When you go to sleep,

the sea of your thoughts writhe,

and froth,

circling, and jittering,

until they become alive,

scratching at the banks,

of their enclosure,

letting the debris,

create films,

films of so many things,

death and decay,

skulls and bones,

snakes and ghosts,

and when the sea settles,

so do the films,

and your mind eases,

from its pain,

of nightmares.

i liked this,,it is a good description of how nightmares unfold. if i have a crazy dream like that, i usually tell a friend and then can laugh about it. good poem.

"writhe". I hate nightmares. I had one about zombie smurfs and they were everywhere! I woke up before they could get past my knees. I got chills just from thinking about it. Yikes! Good description of how the mind does this crud though.

when i woke up with a nightmare i know its hard to go back to sleep, but
what i do is re dream it and change the course of its flow or so i assume
yet i know we have the power if we just believed..the mind is a powerful tool.
