Eventually

Blind I wander around

arms out searching for hope

but there is none

I have no way to cope

 

trapped in this cage

with darkness and despair

no way to breakout

into the eyes of sorrow I stare

 

locked inside

with the vicious beast

life with it's teeth showing

ready to devour me, it's feast

 

trying to hold on as long as I can

I don't know how much longer it will last

all I feel is pain

putting my heart in a cast

 

I can't keep this up

for much longer

I will eventually give up

for it is much stronger

Beautiful write, yes the power of darkness on one's soul is strong and if we do not get support and help to loosen its grip it might choke us. Only then can we have the hope to vanquish it. We can not do it completely on our own.
