New year

what's to be happy about

another year, another day

to be here and watch

the surroundings decay

I don't care for the new year

nor the new day for that matter

I just can't wait for the last

waiting for the day I shatter

what's so good about life

it's all just a direct path to failure

all the things that give us hope

for tomorrow, it's all lore

why should I celebrate it

it's just another hallow day

one step closer to the grave
where my body will forever lay

another year in this hell

more things to fear

can't wait until I leave

yeah, happy new year

So true. A new year...a new year? For some reason, now that i just say it, the words through me in for a loop. You're completely right. The new year has no real significance. Just the beginning of a new period of time. It's just another stupid day you survive through. I've never celebrated it. I really like this poem. It's all truth. Nice write and well done.

I like this. I do believe that the New Year is just another day, but also a time for new beginnings. This day symbolizes the death of one thing to lead to the birth of another. But it does leave us one year closer to the end of all of our suffering. Great Write.

Canicus I really like this. I too feel that its just another day. Nothing changes our problems don't go away. True that every year that passes brings us closer to our grave. Good job on this one man.
